Monza claimed a 2-1 win against Sassuolo in Serie A Regular Season Round 5 at the U-Power Stadium.

After a scoreless first half that saw E. Kouadio receive a yellow card for Monza in the 30th minute, the match opened up after the break. G. Varela broke the deadlock in the 51st minute with an assist from S. Birindelli, before adding a second goal from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute.

Sassuolo fought back with a goal from V. Adzic in the 88th minute, but Monza held on for the three points.

Discipline played a part as Monza's E. Kouadio, M. Folorunsho, S. Birindelli, and G. Varela were booked, while L. Lipani received a yellow card for Sassuolo.
